Ballet Arkansas' "The Nutcracker"

Following the spectacular debut at Arts In Concert, Artistic Director, Arleen Sugano and the professional Ballet Arkansas dance company have prepared a wonderfully exciting and graceful performance of the beloved Christmas classic, The Nutcracker. After a magical holiday party where her uncle presents her with a beautiful Nutcracker, Clara's dream comes to life as she dances with the Nutcracker Prince. Act I closes with the Battle Scene where the Nutcracker Prince defeats the Rat King and Clara is then led through the Kingdom of Snow. Act II opens in the Land of the Sweets with the Angels and the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Together they will mesmerize the audience as they dance along with Chinese Tea, Arabian Coffee, Spanish Chocolate, Mirliton Shepherdesses, and the Flowers corps with Clara!
This year, The Nutcracker, performed to live music provided by the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and choral accompaniment by the Mount Saint Mary Academy.
The Sunday matinee performance will be preceded by the annual Nutcracker Tea, where children can have their photographs taken with The Nutcracker characters. Tea seatings are at 12:15pm and 1:45pm at The Peabody. Tickets are $32.00 for adults; $22.00 for children; and children 4 and under are free.
