Celebrating 10 Years of Musical Bliss: Jazz in the Park

Jazz in the Park returns this September! Sponsored by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau in partnership with the Art Porter Music Education, Inc. (APME), Jazz in the Park celebrates local musicians in Little Rock’s jazz scene.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Little Rock, a vibrant celebration of rhythm and melody comes alive every spring and fall. Jazz in the Park has been harmonizing the city's soul since its inception in 2013. As it reaches its monumental 10th year in 2023, the event continues to encapsulate the essence of community, culture, and creativity.

Unveiling Local Talent: A Resonance of Jazz and R&B

Set against the backdrop of the picturesque River Market Pavilions, Jazz in the Park unveils a tapestry of local talent that showcases the pulsating jazz and R&B scene in Little Rock. What began as intimate gatherings in the historic pavilion has blossomed into a grander affair.

Rhythmic Wednesdays: A Tradition of Togetherness

Each Wednesday in April and September, the downtown scene transforms as Jazz in the Park takes the stage. Families, friends, and music aficionados unite to experience the alchemy of sounds and the enchantment of live performances. The concert series has become a cherished tradition that intertwines with the city's cultural fabric, providing an opportunity for people of all ages to come together and appreciate the beauty of music.

The experience is immersive, some seating will be provided, but concertgoers are welcome to sprawl out on picnic blankets or lawn chairs to add a touch of leisure. As the melodies flow, refreshments are available for purchase, including water, soft drinks, beer, and wine with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the Art Porter Music Education scholarship fund. Just be sure to leave the coolers at home!

A Decade of Harmonious Celebration

As September arrives, Jazz in the Park gears up for its 10th Anniversary celebration, taking place on the last day of this year’s event.

  • September 6 – First Security Amphitheater- 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Special 10th Anniversary Grand Opening featuring Nicky Parrish and Friends
  • September 13 – River Market Pavilions – 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dee Dee Jones
  • September 20 – River Market Pavilions - 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Butterfly of New Orleans, Katrice Newbill
  • September 27 – First Security Amphitheater. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Special 10th Anniversary Finale featuring Rodney Block and his All-Star Friends
