You're Always Connected
Staying connected in the meeting and events industry is an important aspect of a planner’s job. Planners need to be connected to the CVB team, their attendees and the venues. So when you’re looking for your next meeting or event destination, you’ll be pleased to know Little Rock, Arkansas, fits the bill for being a connected city. It’s the reason Dillard’s, Windstream Communications, Stephens Inc., and Heifer International all call the city home. Little Rock is a central location in the United States and is one of the South’s top convention cities, so it has all the perks and amenities you need, people dedicated to making your meeting memorable, and of course, plenty of Southern hospitality.
Connected Geographically
“Meeting in the middle” is a cornerstone of business, and Little Rock is definitely middle ground. Little Rock is easy to access both nationally and regionally, and your attendees will be here in a matter of hours by plane. Arkansas is bordered by six states and served by two major highways, Interstate 30 and Interstate 40, making it easy to arrive by car or bus as well. You can also arrive by the rails via Amtrak if you want a scenic route into The Natural State.
Connected Locally
When you’re looking for your next in-town meeting location, look no further than Little Rock’s Robinson Center and Statehouse Convention Center. These two fantastic venues host tens of thousands of visitors annually.
The Robinson Center is the city’s premier entertainment and events venue, featuring a 2,222-seat performance hall and 25,000-sq.-ft. conference center. Originally built in 1939, this spectacular site underwent a $70 million renovation and is now one of the few places in the nation to be both LEED certified and on the National Register of Historic Places list. From concerts to conventions, any event held here will dazzle and shine.
Need something a little bigger? The Statehouse Convention Center features more than 220,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including an 82,892-sq.-ft. exhibit hall and an 18,000-sq.-ft. ballroom and with stunning views of the Arkansas River. This space can also, of course, be broken down into smaller exhibit halls, meeting rooms, and registration rooms for a more intimate experience or simultaneous presentations. Event security is an exclusive service of the Statehouse Convention Center, with personnel patrolling the area to ensure your guests’ safety.
Both downtown venues are also close to multiple parking structures that are operated by the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau, as well as on the route for the city’s popular three-and-a-half-mile METRO streetcar system. Additionally, each is within walking distance of numerous restaurants and local attractions.
Connected—Literally
Planning your meeting at the Robinson Center? The newly renovated DoubleTree by Hilton Little Rock is connected to the center and has 288 rooms and 13,000 square foot of meeting space. The airport is only 7 miles away, and there’s a complimentary shuttle for anyone not arriving by car. But if your attendees have their own set of wheels, the two facilities also share an underground parking garage.
Opting for the Statehouse Convention Center? Your attendees will feel right at home at the Little Rock Marriott, which is connected to the center. The hotel has 418 luxurious rooms and more than 40,000 square foot of meeting space. Your group may not want to leave after the service they receive here (or after a trip to the spa!). Many rooms also come with sweeping views of downtown, or alternatively, the Arkansas River.
Connected Digitally
Did you know that the Statehouse Convention Center and Robinson Center have complimentary Wi-Fi throughout their facilities? It’s one reason meeting planners love these spaces so much. Attendees don’t want to show up and pay for Wi-Fi, so it’s another way you can delight them from the minute they walk through the doors.
You’ll also find state-of-the-art technology and equipment at both centers, as well as the Doubletree by Hilton Little Rock and Little Rock Marriott. Need help with audiovisual setup? The staff at the centers is ready to help you with your technological needs.
