How Would A ‘Girlboss’ Spend Her Week In Little Rock?
March is Women’s History Month – perhaps there’s no better time to salute the girlbosses out there.
What’s a girlboss, you ask?
A girlboss, simply, is a woman who’s the boss of her own life. The beauty of it lies in the diversity of goals and priorities that women set for themselves, and we wholeheartedly applaud and support each woman on her unique journey.
While the paths may vary, there's one destination we believe every girlboss should consider exploring – the beautiful city of Little Rock. In fact, we see it as an ideal place for women who exude girlboss energy.
Don’t believe us? Well, here’s some places in Little Rock you can put your girlboss prowess on full display.
Take your laptop to a downtown coffee shop
You may be working hard, or you may just want an excuse to get a croissant and vanilla latte and pretend to work. Either way, there is no judgment from us. Consider one of the handful of coffee shops located conveniently by downtown Little Rock’s vibrant River Market District.
Downtown coffee shops include Nexus Coffee and Creative, Fidel & Co. and there’s a Starbucks located inside the Little Rock Marriott. Enjoy!
Pick out a new accessory at the Esse Purse Museum
There are two reasons why the Esse Purse Museum in Little Rock’s South Main neighborhood is a worthwhile stop this Women’s History Month. First, it’s your opportunity to travel through the past century via the changing styles of women’s purses. See how styles have transformed from the 1920s and 1930s, to the wild patterns of the 1960s and 1970s, all the way to the cool, classic looks of the 1990s.
Second, there’s an extensive museum gift shop. That’s all we need to tell you, right?
Snap a new LinkedIn headshot in front of the Arkansas River
Any corporate-minded girlboss needs a show-stopping LinkedIn profile, and the Arkansas River provides the perfect background for a headshot. Pass through the Riverdale neighborhood on your way to top of Big Dam Bridge or stay downtown – there are a lot of picturesque stops along the Arkansas River Trail.
We recommend a selfie atop Junction Bridge. Make sure the lighting is right and capture the Arkansas River and downtown Little Rock’s skyline behind you!
Who’s stopping you from getting a good espresso martini?
Being a girlboss comes with its perks. For one, you’re completely entitled to unwind after a long day with a delicious drink. Whether it’s a soda, a milkshake, or something a little stronger – an espresso martini, perhaps – Little Rock is the perfect place for whatever you’re craving.
Consider frequenting one of the establishments recently honored by the LRCVB’s E.A.T.S (Employees Accomplishing Terrific Service) Awards.
