Make Bill Clinton Proud: Spend Presidents Day Weekend in Little Rock
In 1992, Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton celebrated his presidential victory at Little Rock's Old State House, marking a historic moment for the city. Fast forward 31 years, and Little Rock remains an enticing weekend destination. As Presidents Day approaches on February 17-19, consider exploring the Capital City with activities that would likely receive a nod of approval from President Clinton himself.
Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton cemented Little Rock’s place in history when he claimed victory in the presidential race at the city’s Old State House on November 3, 1992.
For some, it may be hard to believe that night was 31 years ago. A lot may have changed, but some things stay the same – including the fact that Little Rock is as good of a weekend travel destination as ever.
So, this Presidents Day weekend, February 17-19, why not take a trip to the Capital City? We have the feeling President Clinton himself would encourage it.
Here are a few ideas of how to spend a successful Presidents Day weekend in Little Rock:
Visit the Clinton Presidential Library & Museum, and enjoy a meal on site
In 2004, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum was dedicated to the legacy of the nation’s 42nd president. The library and museum, located at 1200 President Clinton Ave., are open daily and include a gift shop and restaurant.
The restaurant, 42 Bar and Table, offers lunch Monday-Friday, dinner Thursday-Saturday, and a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays.
Take this Presidents Day weekend to revisit the Clinton era and enjoy a meal on site.

Take a historic approach to Little Rock by visiting the Old State House Museum
The Old State House Museum, housed in what was once Arkansas’s first Capitol building, holds a variety of historic state artifacts.
The museum, located 300 W Markham St, features political exhibits including “Governors of Arkansas” and “First Ladies of Arkansas: Women of Their Times.”
The museum is open Saturday and Sunday (but not Monday), so consider adding this to your Presidents Day weekend itinerary. Admission is free.

Not the political type? No problem. Instead, get your tickets for “Swan Lake” by Ballet Arkansas at Robinson Center, 426 W Markham St.
There are three performances: 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, February 17, and 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 18.
Pick up some treats at the Bernice Gardens Farmers’ Market
