Where to Eat, Shop and More in West Little Rock
West Little Rock is teeming with things to see, fantastic places to eat, and some great ways to connect with the natural landscape that surrounds the city.
In recent years, Little Rock’s downtown district has experienced an overwhelming renaissance in the Main Street Creative Corridor, South Main (SoMa), River Market and East Village neighborhoods. But they're not the only parts of the city worth exploring.
West Little Rock is a way of life with its unique neighborhoods, shops, malls, entertainment venues, restaurants, and plenty of outdoor activities. It’s a bit of hustle and bustle, with a major dose of ease and relaxation.
Hang on to your hat, because here’s what’s waiting for you out West:
Shop Till You drop
You’ll find plenty of options at centers like Shackleford Crossings, home to more than 50 retailers, or at the Promenade at Chenal, an open-air shopping destination situated in the rolling hills of West Little Rock. There's also the Pleasant Ridge Town Center, a premier shopping center, and The Outlets of Little Rock, Arkansas’s only outlet mall and home to Bass Pro Shops of Arkansas. Whether you’re looking for national chain stores or unique boutique finds, you’ll have lots of places to keep you busy.
Eat Your Heart Out
Aaah, the food! Get a taste of just a few signature greats at some local favorites: Ramen at the Arkansas Heart Hospital (yep, a hospital), seasonal specials with a glass of wine at Capers, world famous cheese dip at Heights Taco & Tamale, or modern takes on Southern classics at Table 28. You’ll get your fill in this part of town.
Lay Your Head Here
One of the best parts of travel is relaxing at a nice hotel at the end of your day. You want a nice clean room, modern conveniences and friendly staff. All of those can be checked off your list when you stay at any of the hotels West Little Rock has to offer.
See a Movie and More
Head over to the Movie Tavern for a super meal and show or visit the AMC Chenal 9 for a large-than-life IMAX experience. Nearby, the Cinemark Colonel Glenn offers 18 screens to choose from. Take the family to Big Rock Fun Park for some mini-golf or to the Arkansas Skatium for all things skating.
Take The Scenic Route
They call Arkansas "The Natural State" for a reason, and Little Rock helps lives up to that nickname. Take a walk across the Big Dam Bridge, North America’s longest pedestrian and bicycle-intended bridge spanning the Arkansas River, or bike over Two Rivers Bridge just down the way. Into climbing? You’re in luck. Get in a few routes up Pinnacle Mountain State Park, or head over to Rattlesnake Ridge. Your reward will be some pretty awesome aerial views. Canoe or kayak the Little Maumelle to round out your outdoor adventure. For something a little more serene, Wildwood Park for the Arts is just the ticket, and it comes with resident swans too. And have we mentioned Little Rock's 1,200+ miles of cycling trails? Well, you'll find many of them right in West Little Rock.
When you head out west, you can expect the unexpected.
