Rattlesnake Ridge is a loop trail rated intermediate to expert. There are currently just over 5 miles of trails with more on the way. There are many rock features, most with ride-arounds and some nice berms, jumps, and drops. It is a mountain bike playground where riders can work on skills. The trail is also popular with hikers.

The purpose of Rattlesnake Ridge Natural Area is to conserve the habitats of rare plant and animal species. Conservation of this property also protects Lake Maumelle, which is Central Arkansas’ drinking water supply, and maintains the forested floodplain along Nowlin Creek to improve water quality and reduce downstream flood impacts.

WET-WEATHER TRAIL CLOSURE POLICY

Due to the hydrology and geology of Rattlesnake Ridge Natural Area, seeps can impact the trails throughout the year after significant rain events. In order to maintain the trails, we will occasionally implement wet-weather closures.
